Andrew Garfield recounted how Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire reacted to his Oscar nomination. The three actors shared credits in Spider-Man: No Way Home, a film that – until now – is the eighth highest grossing film in history.
According to Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland sent him “very sweet” text messages on February 8, just after the Oscar nominations were announced. In these he is considered in the category of Best Actor for his participation in Tick, Tick… Boom!, by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
“I received very sweet messages from Tom and Tobey. The spider brothers are in action and have been very supportive. It’s very nice,” he revealed to the Happy Sad Confused podcast. Previously Holland had already announced that the three actors have a chat in which they communicate frequently.
Andrew Garfield also assured that he would be willing to bring Spider-Man back to life, as well as share the screen with the other Peter Parkers. “I would love to continue working with Tobey and Tom. That dynamic of three brothers is very substantial,” said the actor, who competes for the Oscar with Will Smith (King Richard), Denzel Washington (The Tragedy of Macbeth), Javier Bardem (Being the Ricardos) and Benedict Cumberbatch (The Power of the dog).
