A killer whale attacked a sailing boat in the European part of the Atlantic Ocean. The incident occurred in Gibraltar, located near Spain.

After the dangerous situation took place, researchers confirmed the behavior of the mammal mainly came from orca Gladis. Reportedly, the animal was badly treated by a group of fishers who attempted to capture it. As it was trapped in the net, it attempted to escape but got hurt while trying to swim away from the capture.

It is said that Gladis, as it was named, was traumatized by the event and decided to “look for revenge” against any type of arriving boat that swims in its territory. As a recording shows, the animal was able to hit the boat multiple times.

Apparently, the killer whale’s pod is now following its behavior, and they have started attacking and hitting boats they spot in the ocean as well. It is very likely for the future generation of these animals to share his destructive conduct against humans, as they might learn it from the older ones.

The first attacks started being registered in May, 2020. Since then, more than 20 incidents involving the marine animals have been confirmed this year. In consequence, authorities have already forbidden navigating in these places, in order to avoid any further attack episodes.
