More than a month has passed since actor Tom Holland‘s last social media post, but this “drought” ended this weekend when the Spider-Man star reappeared on his Instagram account with a video in which he sent an important message to his more than 67 million followers regarding his absence.
The 26-year-old actor explained in a video that he disappeared all these days from social networks to take care of his mental health, and that he only returned momentarily to support a cause that seemed important to him.
Tom Holland made it clear to his followers that his return to social networks this weekend was an exceptional situation due to a cause that it is related to the reason that forced him to leave of social networks.
“Hello and bye. I’ve been taking a break from social media for my mental health“, Tom wrote alongside his video, explaining that his return was to help raise awareness for the Stem4 charity, an organization dedicated to mental health.

In the video, Tom Holland explained that he decided to stay away from Instagram and Twitter because he finds these social networks “overstimulating” and “overwhelming“.
“I get stuck and spiral when I read things about myself online. And ultimately it’s very detrimental to my state of mind, so I decided to take a step back and delete the app“, he explained.
Tom Holland credited the Stem4 organization for helping him with his mental health issues and said he hopes to see more young people speaking up and finding resources to help them with their own mental health issues with the apps he has available.
Finally, the actor told his followers that he “was going to disappear from Instagram again“, but thanked everyone for the love and support they have always shown him.
