The long-awaited Percy Jackson series on Disney+ has revealed the actor who will play the lead, Walker Scobell, who recently appeared in Netflix’s hit ‘The Adam Project‘ alongside Ryan Reynolds.
Despite the fact that Rick Riordan‘s acclaimed series did not catch on with the public, Percy Jackson will have a second chance on Disney + with a television series. Riordan confirmed it two years ago and the series began production in early 2022. Now, finally, the leading actor has been confirmed.
After sharing the screen with actors like Ryan Reynolds, Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, Catherine Keener and Jennifer Garner, now the young actor will lead the Disney production. A project that apparently will be focused on children and will adapt the original material from which it comes better than the movies.
‘The Adam Project’ star Walker Scobell has been cast in the titular role of Disney+‘s ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians.’

Unlike the movies, the TV series will try to use younger actors to tell its story. This matches the books better. The novels tell the adventures of Percy, a twelve-year-old boy who discovers that he is actually a demigod, son of Poseidon, god of the seas and oceans in Greek mythology.
The first season Percy Jackson will consist of eight episodes in total and possibly have more than one season. Filming is expected to start from this summer. This is how it is programmed by Disney +, the most successful streaming platform in recent years.
