EVGA Withdraws from Graphics Card Manufacturing

Companies often attempt to expand into areas where they have little presence, and in the case of graphics cards, EVGA was one of the brands with the smallest market share. This led the company to abandon GPU manufacturing, a decision that many interpreted as a potential shutdown. However, far from disappearing, EVGA continued to support the products it still manufactures, such as power supplies, peripherals, and other devices. Even so, the company’s future remains uncertain.

It has been two years since EVGA announced its exit from the PC graphics card market. Despite working with NVIDIA and selling models under its license, the brand never managed to establish itself among the industry leaders or fully gain consumer trust. However, even after ceasing production of one of its most significant products, EVGA did not shut down entirely and continues to develop and sell other types of hardware, including power supplies and peripherals.

Nevertheless, not all news about the company is encouraging. Recently, EVGA made a decision that has sparked speculation about its future: the closure of its official forums. Instead, the community is being moved to Reddit, a move that has surprised many, as forums typically serve as a direct communication channel between a company and its customers.

In its official statement, EVGA explained the decision as follows:

“In response to feedback from our valued customers and given Reddit’s widespread popularity, EVGA encourages its community to transition to this platform. As of this announcement, our existing forums will be set to read-only, and our team will actively engage with customers in Reddit threads moving forward. EVGA and our moderators would like to thank all forum members for years of contributions in building a great enthusiast community, and we look forward to continuing this community in its new home on Reddit.”

While this decision may seem like a simple relocation, some believe it is actually a cost-cutting measure, as the company does not appear to be in the best financial position after exiting the GPU business. Despite this, EVGA’s products are still recognized for their high quality, suggesting that the company may still have a place in the market.
