Nintendo had its latest Direct showcase stream yesterday. During the brief 15-minute presentation, the Japan-based company mostly introduced the gameplay for the new Super Mario Bros. Wonder video game, which comes a few months after the hype and great success of Super Mario Bros. The Movie.

Thanks to this, fans and players got to see the story, worlds, and characters for this new release. In addition, Nintendo also made a really interesting surprise by unveiling the new bright red Nintendo Switch OLED for Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

The handheld console will be looking a lot more like Mario, which makes it similar to the release of the new video game. Pictures show that this especial version of the Nintendo Switch OLED will come on a bright red with subtle tones of black in its color palette.

This model has already been shared by Nintendo on social media platforms and they clarified that it will include a “console, dock, and Joy-Con controllers all in the iconic Mario Red color, with a silhouette of Mario on the back of the dock.” This console will be launched on October 6, a few weeks before the release of Super Mario. Wonder on October 20.

It is not the first time Nintendo ventures into making especial-edition consoles inspired by their video games. In the past, the company launched Mario-themed Switch for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. In addition, other games such as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Animal Crossing and Pokémon Scarlet-Violet have also been given a themed-edition consoles that resemble the aesthetic and color palette of each video game.
