On July 22, 2023, Elon Musk announced a series of changes to Twitter, which is now named X. The social media platform went through different adjustments including the implementation of a reading limit for users, a name change, and a logo change, among others. Now, X has taken a step further to go beyond the application’s status as a messaging platform.

Today, August 25, 2023, X announced that they have implemented “early access to the X Hiring Beta,” which is available to Verified Organizations. These are mostly companies that pay X (formerly known as Twitter) 1,000 dollars for having this privilege. These companies can use a new featuring which is a job listing on their X profiles.

The new characteristic Elon Musk just implemented on his platform is far from being as complete as LinkedIn. However, it marks one more step toward the goal the CEO had about X becoming “an app for everything.”  The post states that “X’s Hiring Beta” will “Feature your most critical roles and organically reach millions of relevant candidates.” In addition, it encourages organizations to apply for Beta so that they can access the new feature, too.

With the new changes that have been going through X, Elon Musk is possibly following the steps of “WeChat,” which is China’s most popular app. The Chinese platform offers users social networking, payment options, product sales, and messages. It is very likely that the billionaire will follow this route to transform X.
