Madonna says she is lucky to be alive after hospitalization

Madonna was hospitalized in the intensive care unit a month ago. The Queen of Pop suffered from a bacterial infection which put her in critical condition until she was able to recover. After going through that difficult moment, the artist has reflected on her family and the people she loves are helping her recover.

The “Hung Up” singer took Instagram to share her feelings this Sunday, July 30. “Love from family and friends is the best Medicine.” The hitmaker said in her post. She later stated that is easy to get “caught up in the needs of your children” being a mother but that “my children really showed up for me,” when she was in the hospital.

Madonna has one daughter with her ex-husband Carlos Leon, named Lourdes Leon. She also has a son with director Guy Ritchie, named Rocco Ritchie. In addition, she also adopted four children, whose names are David Banda, Chifundo “Mercy” James, Stella, and Estere.

She also talked about how she feels grateful for her long-time friend and manager, Guy Oseary. He gave her a Keith Haring Polaroid with a “jacket painted with Michael Jackson’s face on the garment”, which was taken by Andy Warhol. The artist later stated that “I realized how lucky I am to be alive. And how lucky I am to have known these people and so many others who are also gone.”

The iconic singer had to re-schedule her upcoming tour “Celebration World Tour” as a result of her bacterial infection. Now that she has recovered, it is expected that she will perform in different cities to celebrate her career.
