In May this year, PlayStation unveiled Project Q which was set to be the company’s first handheld device in years. On paper, most of it looked appealing to the market and it seemed to be a great option for Sony fans craving a portable console. However, as most details started to be announced, fans gradually lost interest and felt disappointed with the upcoming device. A part of the market seemed to be e unhappy with its concept, while others have given the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately, this time criticism has gone all over social media after someone leaked images and a short clip showing the device.
The content is circulating on places like Twitter, and has surprised the gaming community. The reason is that most players seemed to be unpleased with Project Q’s appearance, which received backlash in the comment sections and retweets. Some users have said the product does not look very “aesthetic” and that it lacks an eye-catching design. For example, one of the disappointed gamers expressed that “Who’s smart idea was the split the ps5 controller in half and use each side on a tablet?” Making reference to the console’s tablet-like form.
Twitter user Zuby_Tech shared the Project Q leaks on his account and the reception started coming. Sadly, it was anything but positive and it received harsh criticism and comparisons to other handheld devices in the market, such as the Nintendo Switch. The video clip shows that Project Q will have an Android-based operating system, it will have the Dual Sense controllers split into two and its design resembles that of a tablet.
Following the leaks, some had even expected them to be fake as the could not believe the low quality and lack of effort the PlayStation company has seem to put into their latest console.
