Nintendo Switch player spends a large sum to complain to Nintendo

Nintendo is not new to get complaints after (sometimes even before) the release of their video games. Users frequently write lengthy social media posts, make review videos and leave comments expressing their discontent in social media platforms. However, this time the complaint was taken one step further as one Nintendo Switch gamer spent 3,500 dollars to complain about the “Splatoon 3” video game at a Nintendo shareholder meeting.

The individual, who attended the event, tried to camouflage their dissatisfaction in the form of a question at the shareholder meeting. They communicated their negative view of the title regarding the “poor customization” that male characters have in the Splatoon 3 video game, in comparison to its female counterparts. According to reports, the statement talked about a “preferential treatment” for female customization options, including hairstyles and emotes.

As the Splatoon 3 player was talking, the President of Nintendo, Shuntaro Furukawa, interrupted them and said that the “question was too long.” This, however, did not stop the player from addressing the issues they found in the Nintendo video game until the end. When the user concluded their speech, Furukawa thanked them for their feedback and proceeded with the meeting.

The user in question was later identified on Twitter as Haruikatako. They claimed to have spent 512,000 yen, which is 3,570 dollars, to buy shares and be able to attend the meeting. This person has also affirmed that they have sent letters to Nintendo with their critiques, but they have never been responded. As a result, Haruikatako decided to solve the matter themselves in person with the company.
