Jennifer Lawrence stated that she would be “100% ready” to once again play the character of Katniss Everdeen, also known as the “girl on fire,” in “The Hunger Games” franchise, a saga packed with fiction, action, and drama.
The Oscar-winning actress expressed her interest in the movie series last Friday, June 9 while promoting her upcoming comedy film “No Hard Feelings.” In a recent interview with Variety, she stated that she would be open to making a return to the role that catapulted her to stardom by saying: “Oh my god—totally If Katniss could ever come back into my life, 100 percent.”
In spite of not having a storyline for Katniss in the latest motion picture, fans did receive the news with joy and got excited over the possibility of Jennifer Lawrence bringing her old character to life in the film’s prequel of the popular saga. While it is too late for the 32-year-old actress to be included in the cast, the movie franchise will still be premiering “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins. The film focuses on a younger version of President Snow.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will have characters played by Viola Davis, Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Peter Dinklage, Jason Schwartzman, and Hunter Schafer. The highly anticipated film is set to premiere this year, during the winter, exactly hitting theaters on November 17.
