Teenager girl impresses judges at America’s Got Talent during auditions

America’s Got Talent second week of auditions kicked off last Monday, June 5. The show found a new participant who impressed all the judges and the whole audience alike. Putri Ariani, a teenage singer from Indonesia moved everyone who was able to hear her, due to her incredible voice and musicality.

During the preamble of her performance, the 17-year-old stated that she was blind. However, this did not pose a problem to her as in her words “she becomes a super-star when she is singing.” While introducing herself to the judges she told them that she aspired to be like diva and vocalist Whitney Houston, and said she would like to win a Grammy Award. After this, the young girl expressed that the reality TV show could help her reach her dream.

The young girl gave an impressive vocal performance with an original song by hers. In addition, she played the piano during the song and revealed her musicality, talent, and vocal control during the song’s performance. The audience reacted with a standing ovation and the judges kept looking at her with impressed faces. Simon Cowell even requested a second song, and Putri decided to sing “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word” by Elton John and Bernie Taupin.

Once the second song was finished, all the judges gave positive criticism and share their impressions and admiration. Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel said the youngster was “an angel”, Heidi Klum told her that “she sounded beautiful”, and Simon Cowell saved his word for last saying “You’re 17, you write songs, you’ve got an amazing distinctive voice, and I mean, really, really good. You have kind of a glow about you.”

Finally, Cowell triggered the Golden Buzzer at the end of the judges’ comments. This prize is given to participants who make an outstanding audition, and it has been the second time the glittering rain was seen on stage. The first contestant to ever get it during the season was South Africa’s Mzansi Youth Choir.
