American man traded his limited edition Pikachu Nintendo 64 in the box, an original NES in the box, and several SNES retro video games. In return, he got $700 and a Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom-themed Nintendo Switch. The exchange occurred at Hey Bro Video Games, a store located in Houston, Texas, which posted the deal to Instagram and Twitter.
The video was quickly shared by users who expressed the client was being “robbed.” Some of the comments and tweets show users with screenshots of the Pikachu Nintendo 64 console being priced at 850 dollars on online websites. “Can’t believe my dude got robbed in broad daylight like this” reads one of the comments.
After the video went viral, the Kotaku website attempted to make contact with Hey Bro Video Games. The store assured they had not noticed the post was so popular, and they were also not interested in seeing the comments. On a similar note, the store affirmed they just shared the video so that users were able to see they could get money or current consoles in return for their retro products.
