The Voice 2023 finally has a new champion and Blake Shelton announces his departure from the show

The Voice came to an end with season 23 yesterday, Tuesday, May 23. The show finally crowned its latest winner, and Blake Shelton confirmed he is leaving the show after being a coach for more than ten years.

Season 23 of the show is now over after months of auditions, preparations, live shows, tears and joy. On Monday evening, contestants Miles, Grace West, D. Smooth, Sorelle and Noivas had the stage for themselves and took the chance to get the viewer’s favor by performing solo for the last time. Later on, they were joined by their respective coaches for a highly-anticipated duet.

Blake Shelton seemed to be the one with the highest chances to win the season, as two of the finalists were part of his team. On Tuesday, he performed with Noivas one of Michael Bublé’s classics “Home” and performed his own song “Lonely Tonight” with Grace West. When the final moment came, it was revealed Niall Horan’s teammate, Gina Miles, took the victory for season 23.

The girl performed a rendition of “Nothing Compares 2 U” popularized by Sinead O’Connor, and then performed “Style” by Taylor Swift. After that, she sang on a duet with Horan and decided to perform “New York State of Mind” by Billy Joel.

Finally, Shelton decided to confirm he would now step away from The Voice, after being part of it for 12 years. He got the chance to bond with fellow coaches, contestants and even marrying Gwen Stefani, who was also part of the program in previous seasons.

I’ve been wrestling with this for a while, and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after Season 23, This show has changed my life in every way for the better, and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns, and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people; you are the best.
