The Apple employees in Maryland, United States, will start charging tips for their delivery and equipment repairment services. The syndicate has made a statement regarding the situation as well.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of syndicated employees has decreased constantly for some time now, but the Apple employees from Maryland have gotten creative to help their situation.
According to exclusive reports from Statista, the employees managed to implement a top system to improve their service, now, when you buy a product or need repairment, you’ll have the option to leave a tip, and there are also rumors that three percent of the total cost of the purchase will go directly towards the workers paychecks, splitting it evenly among all workers.
However, this measure has broken a few politics from the Apple company, who’s director is the magnate Tim Cook, who prohibited the tips to prevent bribing and conflict of interests inside the company, but it looks like the syndicate was able to override this rule.
It’s not the first time that we see this tendency in the big companies as recently Starbucks baristas started making tips as well. Some Tik Tok users have denounced this, arguing that the tipping culture is getting out of control. Now, when you use a card to make a payment, you are met with a screen that offers you the option to leave a tip to your server or barista, if you decide not to tip, you will also be given the option with a button.
Some critics are not very happy with this new feature, clarifying that while they understand that customer service jobs are very demanding, it’s not as understandable to charge tips when the duty is just to deliver the products. Others suggest that the companies, such as Starbucks, should raise their wages instead of opting for a tipping system, considering how pricy their services already are.
