Authorities reveal that Anne Heche was trapped in the flames for 45 minutes

Anne Heche remained trapped in her car, in the rubble of a burning house, for around 45 minutes, during her spectacular car accident that left her in a coma.

The recordings published this Friday, September 2nd, show that the actress was left in the middle of smoke so thick that firefighters had a hard time identifying her Mini Cooper through the darkness.

NBC4 released, for the first time, some time-stamped footage of the Los Angeles Fire Department’s response to the late actress’ accident on August 5th. The deputy chief of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), Richard Fields, explained the scene of the accident to the media:

Given the heavy fire and smoke conditions, the interior of the vehicle could not be clearly seen or accessed“.

The files also show that the LAFD crew arrived at 11:01 the morning of the crash. An operator thought that the owner of the house Anne crashed into was the victim, and not the actress.

Firefighters confirmed at 11:18 a.m. that there were no other victims, and seven minutes later discovered that Anne had “been trapped against the floorboard” of her car. Deputy Chief Fields added to NBC4:

Where the person was in the vehicle was not in the driver’s seat, but on the floorboard of the passenger seat“.

Anne was finally released from her car at 11:49 a.m. before being assessed and transferred on a first aid stretcher. The Los Angeles Police Department obtained an order to analyze the star’s blood, so a few days later it was learned that she had ingested cocaine moments before the accident.
