Margot Robbie is being hailed as the new “highest-paid actress” as her million-dollar salary for the much-hyped “Barbie” was revealed. The Australian actress, 32, is earning $12.5 million to star in the title role of Oscar-nominated writer-director Greta Gerwig‘s film.
In the film based on the iconic Mattel doll of the same name, Ryan Gosling, who co-stars as Ken, who wears garish colors, is also taking the $12.5 million prize, setting a precedent for pay equity.
But other high-earning actors who still rank above Robbie’s impressive pay tier include screen legends like Denzel Washington (The Equalizer 3), grossing 20 million, Leonardo DiCaprio (Killers of the Flower Moon), 30 million and Tom Cruise (Top Gun: Maverick) with 100 million, who ranks as the highest paid actor.

According to Deadline, the plot will revolve around “Barbie being kicked out of Barbieland because she’s not perfect enough” and she “goes on an adventure” to save Barbieland only to realize that “the key to happiness is believing in oneself“.
