The team of lawyers representing Ricky Martin rejected, for the second time, the allegations that led a San Juan Court judge to approve, on July 2nd, a protection order against him through Law 54 of Prevention and Intervention with Domestic Violence.
Attorneys Carmelo Davila, Joaquin Monserrate Matienzo and Harry Mansanet emphasized in the written statements that “the news related to jail sentences or other claims are incorrect and false. As we have previously stated, any accusation against Ricky Martin is incorrect“.
“On July 21st, the hearing on the protective order will be held. This will be attended with the seriousness it deserves. A protection order is a civil process and not a criminal one, as it is being misrepresented“, the lawyers added.
Ricky Martin’s lawyer denies claims from his nephew:
“Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky has, of course, never been — and would never be– involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew.” pic.twitter.com/Z0E4NH9c3H

Judge Raiza Cajigas Campbell issued the protection order last July 2nd “after an ex parte request“, or through a communication made by one of the parties to the court without the presence or knowledge of the opposing party (Martin).

“We confirm that the Puerto Rico Police is in the process of serving a protection order, under Law 54, issued against Mr. Enrique Martin“, the police said at the time.
On the night of July 2nd, the Puerto Rican’s lawyers indicated that “the allegations against Ricky Martin, which lead to a protection order, are completely false“. The following day, Martin posted a message on Twitter reacting to the protection order.
“The protection order filed against me is based on totally false allegations, so I will face the process with the responsibility that characterizes me. As it is an ongoing legal matter, I cannot make particular expressions. I am grateful for the countless expressions of solidarity and I receive them with all my heart“, said Martin.
