Ana de Armas currently lives very happily in New York City, but months before she was not so comfortable in her place of residence. In a recent interview she explained why she fled Los Angeles, and her breakup with a very famous actor had a lot to do with it.
De Armas’ relationship with Ben Affleck launched her into the Hollywood spotlight before the movie they starred in together, Deep Water, was released. The two dated for about 10 months, starting in March 2020, and were seen on romantic vacations.
Armas told ELLE that the paparazzi and media attention for the romance was “horrible“, adding, “That’s one of the reasons I left Los Angeles“. In May 2020, De Armas and Affleck made their romance official on Instagram, with the actress sharing photos of the two of them walking.

In August 2020, she was even seen moving into her house, but after spending the holidays together, they canceled their plans to live together. The actors reportedly broke up on a phone call in January 2021. Shortly after, de Armas deleted her Twitter account and moved to New York City.
“I deleted Twitter years ago“, she said in the interview.
“I’ve barely been on Instagram for almost a year“.
Ana told ELLE that she had seen the public examine the lives of other artists, but when it happened to her, she realized that she had to leave California.
“Going through that confirmed my thoughts about, ‘This is not the place for me’“, she said.
“It’s become too much. There is no escape. There is no way out“.
