Johnny Depp responds to Amber Heard’s petition to overturn verdict

Johnny Depp scoffed at ex-wife Amber Heard‘s request to overturn the jury’s verdict on the grounds that the $10 million ruling in favor of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star in the libel trial was excessive.

According to TMZ, the star’s lawyers stated that their client considers that said amount does not even reflect the loss that he actually suffered after Heard disgraced him in the opinion piece that was published in the Washington Post in 2018.

According to what was stated by his legal representatives, Johnny Depp did not have a job. He didn’t appear in a single studio production until October 2020, so they support the verdict.

Legal documents used to support Johnny’s case show how one of his representatives was negotiating the sixth installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean” for $22.5 million just before Amber Heard’s article was published.

At the time of publication, the producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, said that after Amber’s writing was published, things changed radically and the musician also became a persona non grata for the production of the saga.

As if this were not enough, the lawyers say that the interpreter proved with experts during the trial that his real loss was greater than 40 million.
