Marvel presents Web-Weaver, the first gay Spider-Man. Find out the details

Marvel‘s film division is the one that is currently drawing all the attention of the public, and there is no longer a month that we do not have a production that comes out of the company’s imagery in theaters or on the Disney+ platform. The line of comics continues to grow and now the House of Ideas is preparing to open new horizons.

The new identity of the new Captain America has recently been presented, and now the first homosexual Spider-Man to be part of the cinematic universe in “Edge of the Spider-Verse” is shown in detail, appearing in the fifth issue.

Coinciding with pride month, Marvel introduces the Web-Weaver, a gay fashion designer who possesses spider powers, like the rest of Spider-Man we’ve met. One of the characteristics of the character is that he is not very friendly, so he can counteract a bit of the comedy that the character usually gives off.

“Edge of the Spider-Verse” is a new line of comics in which authors and artists such as Dan Slott, Karla Pacheco, Alex Segura or Dustin Weaver will participate. It will be made up of a total of five numbers and we will see in each volume various stories of the arachnid multiverse.

Web-Weaver was created by writer Steve Foxe and designer Kris Anka, with the latter revealing on Twitter what sources of inspiration he used for the character:

from the jump, I looked at a lot of McQueen and Mugler for this as inspiration. I cast a wide net for the original designs while also looking at new and unique spiders that @steve_foxe has recommended, which eventually paired down to this look“.
