Once again fiction exceeds reality, now through a new reality show based on the plot of ‘The Squid Game‘, the Netflix series that shook the entertainment industry during 2021 and that almost a year after its premiere continues to generate controversy.
Recently, the streaming platform announced that it is looking for candidates to star in the reality show that will include the substantial prize of more than 4 million dollars for the winner. The competition will include challenges “inspired by the original series” and “amazing new additions” the platform revealed.
“Fans of the drama series are in for a fascinating and unpredictable journey as our 456 real-world contestants navigate the biggest competition in history, full of tension and unexpected twists, with the biggest cash prize at the end“, said Brandon Riegg, vice president of unscripted series and documentaries at Netflix.

To be part of the reality show, which will be screened in 10 episodes, the only requirements to compete are that they speak English, be over 21 years of age, have a valid passport and be available for an “advance” filming of four weeks at the beginning 2023 in the UK.
As part of the application process, people who want to participate must submit a one-minute video to Netflix explaining who they are, why they want to be on the reality show, what their strategy would be during the games and what they would do with the grand prize.
