Ahead of its premiere in different countries, the screening, which is one of the most anticipated of the year, has been tainted by being censored in at least 10 Asian regions for allegedly violating content standards by including a lesbian couple among its characters. It was thus that Evans spoke out against acts of homophobia:

“The real truth is those people are idiots. There’s always going to be people who are afraid and unaware and trying to hold on to what was before. But those people die off like dinosaurs. I think the goal is to pay them no mind, march forward, and embrace the growth that makes us human“, he revealed in a recent interview with The Guardian.
The actor who played Marvel’s Captain America also said that he hopes there will come a time when, for society, a same-sex kiss will no longer be a matter of public scrutiny. Finally, the actor stated that he is proud to belong to a project that includes love in all its forms.
