Voice actor Billy Kametz, who is behind several beloved characters, passed away on Thursday, June 9th, at the age of 35.
Kametz was the voice of many beloved anime characters, some of his most iconic roles included Josuke Higashikata in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Naofumi Iwatani in The Rising of the Shield Hero’s, and Galo Thymos in Promare‘s.

His death comes after a battle with colon cancer. The news was first announced in an update on his GoFundMe page.

“This is not the update I wanted to write. Billy left us earlier this week. Please forgive the slightly delayed update as we have worked to notify your loved ones first“, the update began.
“I will formally close this GFM on Tuesday June 14 to allow for final thoughts and donations. Anything you contributed that was not used for Billy’s treatments will go towards his celebration of life and funeral. The family would also appreciate contributions to the Colon Cancer Coalition in Billy’s honor, if you prefer“.
