Rafael Nadal wins his fourteenth Roland Garros adding 22nd Grand Slam

Rafael Nadal expanded this Sunday, June 5th, his legend by adding a new triumph at Roland Garros, the fourteenth of his career, with which he totals 22nd Grand Slams and moves away by two from Serbian Novak Djokovic as the tennis player with the most greats in the history.

On his favorite court, where he has achieved his greatest achievements, two days after celebrating his 36th birthday, last Friday, June 3rd, Nadal authoritatively beat Norwegian Casper Ruud, 6-3, 6-3, 6-0, in 2 hours and 18 minutes.

Inexperience took its toll on Ruud against a rival capable of everything and more while in Paris. Neither the degenerative disease in his left foot, which has even threatened to end his career, nor the low expectations of many after his absence due to injury have disarmed his idyll with French clay.

With his fourteenth Musketeers Cup, Nadal reaches 22nd Grand Slam titles, and extends his lead over Serbian Novak Djokovic (20) and Swiss Roger Federer (20), whom he already managed to beat earlier of the year by winning the Australian Open.
