Less than 24 hours after the jury ruled that Amber Heard must pay more than 10 million dollars in damages to her ex-husband and colleague Johnny Depp in the trial that both stars held for defamation, now the artist’s lawyer assured that your client cannot afford that amount.

After a long legal battle that caught the eyes of Internet users, a jury of seven people considered that Depp and Heard had defamed each other, for which Heard must compensate his ex with 10.35 million dollars, while Johnny will have to pay the actress 2 million.

During the interview granted to the Today program of the NBC network, the lawyer Elaine Bredehoft was asked if Amber will be able to pay the compensation, to which she immediately replied: “Oh no, absolutely not”.

Together, the 36-year-old actress’ legal advocate added that her client intends to appeal the verdict, noting that the actor’s lawyers worked to “demonize” Heard and suppressed crucial evidence at trial.

A number of things were allowed in this courtroom that shouldn’t have been allowed, and that threw the jury into a mess“, she said.

It’s a horrible message. It’s a major setback, because that’s exactly what it means” she said.

Unless you take out your phone and record your spouse or partner beating you, they effectively won’t believe you“, Elaine Bredehoft said.
