Austin Butler confirms his participation in ‘Dune: Part Two’

Austin Butler has confirmed his participation in “Dune 2″ the film starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya in a recent interview for “The New York Times”. The “Elvis” star said he began intense knife-fighting training to play Feyd-Rautha in the second part of director Denis Villeneuve‘s adaptation.

Feyd-Rautha is the favored son of Baron Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgard), leader of the rival house of House Atreides. He is an important character in the film, since he becomes the main enemy of Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet).

The new production, which adapts the second half of Frank Herbert’s iconic 1965 science fiction novel, will also feature other characters such as Florence Pugh in the role of Princess Irulan Corrino. After sweeping the Oscar Awards with six statuettes, the production is ready to return to the big screen and complete a trilogy

Villeneuve has confirmed that the script for “Dune 2” is complete. The film will begin filming in the second half of the year and its release date is scheduled for October 20, 2023. While Elvis is set to be released in theaters on July 14th.
