Pink Floyd returns after 28 years of hiatus for a good cause, the British group publishes this Friday, April 8th, its new song, which is in support of the Ukrainian people entitled “Hey Hey Rise Up“. This song is the band’s first song since the album “The Division Bell” in 1994.
It all arose when David Gilmour saw a publication, made on February 27th, about the Ukrainian singer Andriy Khlyvnyuk, from the band Boombox, who left the tour that his group was doing in the United States to fight as a soldier in his country.
David Gilmour and Nick Mason of Pink Floyd invites the Ukrainian singer to join their voices for the cause. As reported by the legendary band this Thursday, April 7th, on its official Twitter account, the purpose of this new song is that the benefits generated by itself will go to the NGO Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief.

“We, like so many others, have felt anger and frustration at this vile act of invasion of an independent, peaceful and democratic country, and the murders of its people by one of the world’s greatest superpowers“, he wrote in the tweet.
The guitarist and vocalist of Pink Floyd is accompanied on this recording, in addition to Mason, a founding member of the group in 1965, by other regular collaborators such as bassist Guy Pratt and keyboardist Nitin Sawhney.
