The second season of the successful Netflix series “Bridgerton“, produced by Shonda Rhimes, premiered this Friday, March 25th, 2022, however, fans of the Julia Quinn novel saga are already anxious to know if there will be a third delivery.
In response to whether there will be a third season, yes. In April 2021, Netflix announced that the series created by Chris Van Dusen would not only have a third season but also a fourth. So it has been confirmed that Benedict and Colin‘s stories will be adapted.
″’Bridgerton’ blew us away”, Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s vice president of global television, said in a statement.
“The creative team, led by Shonda [Rhimes], knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional, and romantic drama for our members. They have some exciting plans for the future and we think audiences will continue to be fascinated by this show. We are planning to be in the ‘Bridgerton’ business for a long time to come“.

What is known so far is that the third installment will also have eight episodes, which will start shooting in the first half of 2022. According to Quinn’s books, it will focus on Benedict and his quest to find, first, the mysterious woman from a masquerade ball, and then to Sophie Beckett, the illegitimate daughter of the Earl of Penwood.
This third season of “Bridgerton” does not yet have a release date, but the new episodes will most likely arrive on Netflix in early 2023. In fact, Rhimes assured:
“We are already working on season 3 so that we can have a shorter time between seasons”.
