The Geological Survey of the United States (USA) reported this Tuesday, March 22nd, about an earthquake of magnitude 6.7 on the Richter scale in the vicinity of Taiwan. According to the meteorological authority, the epicenter of the earthquake was located about 70 kilometers south of the Taiwanese city of Hualien.
The tremor reported at a depth of about ten kilometers caused no fatalities, no injuries, no material damage, and no danger of a tsunami. Several social network users shared videos of household furniture moving as a result of the tremor, noticeable in several cities in Taiwan.

The geographic region in which Taiwan is located is commonly affected by tremors as it abuts the junction of the Philippine and Eurasian tectonic plates.
It is worth mentioning that at the beginning of the current month, the island experienced a similar telluric movement, on that occasion of magnitude 6.2 located east of Hualien at a depth of more than 28 kilometers.
