Conor McGregor arrested for alleged dangerous driving in Dublin

Conor McGregor has been arrested for committing “traffic offences” with a Bentley Continental GT in Dublin on March 22nd. In videos posted on Twitter they show the fighter driving before the police stopped him.

Gardaí arrested a man aged in his 30s in relation to an incident of dangerous driving in the Palmerstown area, Tuesday 22nd March 2022”, police said in a statement.

The man was taken to Lucan Garda Station where he was later charged. He has been released pending an appearance before Blanchardstown District Court at a later date

According to police reports, McGregor’s vehicle was seized, however it was later returned. Now, the fighter is due to appear in Blanchardstown District Court in April, as he previously also received a speeding ticket.

In addition, he has been charged with dangerous driving in Ireland, which can carry penalties of up to nearly $4,800 in fines, and even a possible six-month prison sentence. Karen Kessler, a spokeswoman for the UFC fighter, said:

Mr McGregor was driving to the gym when he was stopped by Gardai for alleged road traffic violations. He passed the drug and alcohol tests taken at the station“.

McGregor has not returned to the octagon since July 2021 when he suffered a leg injury during a fight with Dustin Poirier, however, he is expected to return later this year after posting videos of his training on his networks.
