Minnie Mouse is taking off her signature skirted dress to wear, for the first time ever, a pantsuit.
Hers classic dress and her white polka dot red bow and yellow low-heeled shoes first debuted in 1928. Now, British designer Stella McCartney is hers.
The person in charge of this costume change has been the British designer Stella McCartney, giving the iconic character a more progressive and modern look in 2022. This new outfit arrives on the occasion of the commemoration of the thirtieth anniversary of Disneyland Paris.

“Minnie has always had a special place in my heart“, the designer highlighted.
“We share the same values. What I love about Minnie is the fact that she embodies happiness, self-expression, authenticity, and that she inspires people of all ages around the world. Plus, she has such great style!“, she adds.
“This new take on her signature polka dots makes Minnie Mouse a symbol of progress for a new generation. She will wear it in honor of Women’s History Month in March 2022. I can’t wait for you to see this new look at Walt Disney Studios Park!“, MacCartney concludes.
The change is part of several other Walt Disney Company entertainment announcements to honor the 30th anniversary of Disneyland Paris. The company also said McCartney will market a Minnie Mouse t-shirt to coincide with International Women’s Rights Day. This t-shirt will be available exclusively online and in Stella stores on March 8.
The news has exploded the controversy in all the ways possible. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, known for her pantsuit, tweeted: “Très chic!” – While political commentator Candace Owens criticized Minnie’s new look during an appearance on Fox News.
