Disney responds to Peter Dinklage on criticism of live-action ‘Snow White’

Criticism shared by actor Peter Dinklage against the new Disney remake of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” has caused the company to be forced to issue a statement to justify itself. Some statements that come to the fore about the archetypal representation of the dwarfs.

There’s a lot of hypocrisy going on“, Dinklage said.

Literally no offense to anyone, but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White, but you’re still telling the story of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’. Take a step back and look what you’re doing there. It makes no sense to me“, Dinklage explained to Marc Maron’s podcast.

You’re progressive in one way, but then are you still making that f**king backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together, what the f**k are you doing, man? Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soap box? I guess I’m not loud enough

Given the remarks of the Emmy winner, The Hollywood Reporter issued the Disney press release in response to his statements through a carrier of the company.

To avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film, we are taking a different approach with these seven characters and have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community. We look forward to sharing more as the film heads into production after a lengthy development period” Disney said in a statement.

In this way, Disney responds to the words expressed by the North American interpreter, which caused a controversy before the new film, assuring that in the film they will be based on the opinion of cultural advisors, just as they did in Aladdin and Mulan with a reinvention from the early stages of the characters.
