What began as a fun visit to a safari turned into a nightmare for workers and some visitors, as a tiger attacked two people and their handler, whose hand was ripped off.

The attack occurred in the Nasul Safari Park, near Tokyo, on the morning of this Wednesday, January 5, when the keepers moved the tiger in a corridor to take it to an exhibition area, local media reported cited by the AFP agency.

The tiger that attacked his caretaker is a 10-year-old Bengal male who is about two meters long and weighs 150 kilograms, making it impossible for them to control it between the three people who carried him.

The 20-year-old caregiver who lost her hand was airlifted in a medical helicopter to the hospital, while another woman was bitten in several places and a man was injured in the back of the head, AFP notes.
