Squid Game” has recorded a total of 1.65 billion hours of transmission in the first four weeks of its launch, becoming the most-watched Netflix content in history.

Netflix published on Tuesday the lists of the 10 most watched contents worldwide of movies and television shows based on the hours watched in their respective first 28 days on the platform.

“Squid Game” topped the list of popular television shows with a total of 1.65 billion viewing hours during the first four weeks after the premiere on September 17. This equates to 188,400 years in total. Previously, Netflix said that around 142 million households had watched the dystopian series during the cited period.

During the week of November 8-14, four South Korean-produced series were among the top ten on the list of popular television shows in other languages, led by “Squid Game” with 42.7 million hours viewed.

Historic romance “The King’s Affection” came in second with 14.1 million hours, and romantic comedy “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” finished third with 13.8 million hours. The crime thriller series “My Name” was watched for 10.8 million hours over the one-week period to take fifth place.

This is the first time Netflix has released the new all-time show rankings based on aggregate watch hours. Previously, the company occasionally reported the number of households that looked at a given title for at least two minutes.
