The South Korean firm Samsung Electronics Co. has been placed in second place in the list of the best global brands chosen by consumers, in 54 markets worldwide, published by the British market researcher YouGov, as announced this Wednesday, industry sources.
According to the sources, YouGov published, on Tuesday (local time), the list of “best global brands 2021“, in which Samsung Electronics Co. ranked second, rising two notches from last year.
Meanwhile, Google topped the list and Netflix came in behind Samsung in third place, followed by YouTube in fourth and Whatsapp in fifth. Companies in the information technology (IT) sector occupied the top five on the list both this year and in 2020.
YouGov used panel data collected from more than 1,700 people in 54 markets globally and ranked the best global brands based on criteria such as brand image, quality, value, satisfaction level, recommendation, and reputation.
This is the fifth consecutive year that Samsung Electronics has been in the top five on that list, after ranking fourth in 2017, 2019 and 2020, and third in 2018.
